What is the indoor gardening?

The best way to describe indoor gardening is making an environment of an artificial garden inside your premises. It is especially useful for people living in apartments or homes where there is no space to garden. Indoor gardens are also apt for those residing in winter climates so that they can have fresh food.  Therefore, for those don’t have enough outdoor space and still want fresh food, then indoor gardening is the solution. Indoor gardens these days have been growing immensely. Nowadays it is feasible to produce various vegetables like cucumbers, tomatoes and also flowers in an indoor garden. Now, let us look at the things that are required for indoor gardening.

Lighting is vital for indoor gardening. It is imperative to have adequate lighting, otherwise plants will grow, but they will be weak. To get the best outcome, one should complement natural lighting with artificial grow lights. There are many different grow lights available. After lighting, you need the right soil. The soil should be apt for the kind of plant being grown. Moreover, both soil as well hydroponics have benefits. Hydroponics means cultivating your plants in water, but without soil. Many people make the mistake of overwatering their plants. Overwatering causes your plants to die. Therefore, water your plants only when the soil feels dry.

Indoor plants require small quantities of fertilizer. Make sure that you do not go over the top with fertilizers. Plants will flourish if the humidity is 50% or higher. However, they can still survive if the humidity is 30-40%. In case, if the air is drier than this, the plants would not be able to absorb water through roots in order to maintain the loss of water through leaves. Misting of water can also be beneficial for your indoor garden, especially if your house is air-conditioned or centrally heated. It is important to ensure that the water used for misting is at room temperature. In addition, use a spray bottle or an atomizer for misting. By keeping these points in mind, you can have a thrivingindoor garden.
